Progressive safety gears
A brake safety gear is part of a safety system. This system usually consists of a mechanical overspeed governor, a tensioning weight and a safety gear which are connected to each other by the tensioned governor rope. The purpose of this system is to decelerate moving loads quickly and safely in an emergency in order to prevent damage to people or material. The purely mechanical components used today are increasingly being partially or completely replaced by electromechanical and/or electronic components: E-Safety.
At Cobianchi we consider all safety gears up to a load of 5000 kg and a maximum release speed of 3.5 m/s as standard.
HEAVY LOADS
By high loads, also called heavy loads at our company, we mean the whole load range from 5000 kg total load. Up to 10000 kg we work with combinations of standard safety gears. In order to cover the range up to max. 100’000 kg, we have developed two powerful basic modules: the safety gear PC100E and the even bigger version PC250E.
Based on the PC100E, we offer single- and double-acting systems up to 52’000 kg. With the large PC250E, single-acting brake safety gear systems up to 100’000 kg can be realised.
With versatile accessories, special housings for modernisations, special release jacks, bearing supports and their many years of experience, our engineers quickly find the best-fitting solution even for complex requirements.
SAFETY GEARS FOR ROUND GUIDES
Specialists in our product segment are the brake safety gears for round rails. These were developed for the modernisation of approx. 70 year old systems which were built with round guide rails. At a time when gas and water pipes were more easily available than T-guide rails. For new installations today, these special designs are not intended, but for modernisations of small passenger lifts with greater heights, they are the key to a cost-effective modernisation: the rails can be left in place.
